ADHD ASSESSMENT

Our Approach

The Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Assessment service provided by Sunstone Psychology aims to provide a holistic and strengths-based approach to specialist diagnostic ADHD assessment for both children and adolescents (aged 5 - 17 years) and adults (aged 17+). ADHD assessments delivered HCPC registered psychologists within the Sunstone Psychology team meet National Institute for health and Care Excellence (NICE) quality standards.

Choosing Sunstone Psychology to deliver an assessment of ADHD will mean that you are commissioning the expert skills that Psychologists hold in longitudinal formulations of a client's difficulties; this is at the core of our training as Psychologists and something that places us at experts in delivering comprehensive and high-quality assessments of ADHD.

We provide high-quality comprehensive private assessment and report writing services, and thorough post-diagnostic psychologically-informed recommendations and signposting.

If desired, we can provide post-diagnostic therapeutic support  and CBT-informed Executive Function skills training.

We are not medical prescribers, but should you decide you would like to take medication as part of your treatment plan, we have established pathways with private prescribers and prescribing services with whom accept our NICE quality standard ADHD assessment diagnostic reports for both children and adults. This helps to 'bridge this gap' by providing an ADHD medication service to clients diagnosed by HCPC registered psychologists in independent private practice.

"Thank you very much for your report. It’s a great report. Thank you! [The family] have read through it and chatted over the results. We feel it’s accurate and somehow makes ['our son'] much clearer. It feels like we should have known it all along! ... I would appreciate your thoughts on [helpful next post-diagnostic steps] when we meet" - December 2024

"Many thanks indeed Amy for your comprehensive assessment report. I am certainly grateful that you have been able to address the complex elements of this case." - Case Manager, July 2024

"Rebekah has been working with my client for around 6 months now. She has built an exceptional and trusting relationship with my client which has been difficult for my client to achieve with other Psychologists. Rebekah is extremely approachable, very lovely, highly professional and a very skilled and knowledgeable psychologist. I highly recommend her (although my recommendation comes with selfish hesitation; if the word gets out, Rebekah may not have the availability to work with my other clients!)" - Case Manager, February 2023
